I just got the news right now that the mass kick that happened while I am writing this post (around 4pm CEST) was not due to a mistake by our ISP, but due to a big DDoS attack that is coming in while we finish one last configuration step. That step will actually take out exactly this kind of attack that takes out all servers globally which is exactly the protection that we wanted behind the proxies.

So, from today on, there should not be attacks anymore that take out all US or all European servers and it should also eliminate the "server not responding" error we had during attacks over the weekend.

Other attacks can still take out a proxy which will also result in a kick, but this kick will not affect everyone but just those who were connected through that proxy. This should work reasonably well latest by tomorrow night.

Anyways, this new setup is a temporary solution. No, we do not plan to invest the least money possible. That was not the reason to go to Amazon. The reason was that this temporary solution was fast to do, while we are still negotiating with a partner for a big (and expensive) mitigation solution. So, the plan was and still is to only do this Amazon thing until we get the proper solution in place. I will be able to tell you more including a rough timeline on that solution by tomorrow night.

Os ataques continuam a acontecer em todos os servidores americanos.

Pelo jeito usaram o final de semana pra escanear a nova rede dos servidores. Porém, diz o Cabran que enquanto eles estavam terminando de colocar uma nova configuração que evita que todos os servidores caiam, sofreram o ataque.
