1. Each widget displays certain information that is relevant for your gameplay. Do you miss any information which you think could be useful there? Why?
Status bars: couple more information would be useful, like a hunger gauge, especial conditions gauge (PZ block, mana shield, etc), "time left" gauge (soft boots, rings, rainbow shield, firewalker boots, etc). All these stuff would come disabled by default.
Battle list: nothing to add
VIP list: nothing to add
2. Information is only useful when it's easily accessible and displayed clearly. Do you think there is a better way for designing these widgets graphically and maybe technically? Why would your approach be better?
Status bars: health/mana bars would keep blinking on the final 25%, and get an "energized" effect when full. Adding "current/total" values over the bars (or even at the current place) would be nice also.
Battle list: maybe adding "current/total" health values on players (maybe only over selected target).
VIP list: make the editing changes to be saved server-side. So we don't loose our customizations if we loose our Tibia.cfg
Off-topic: make ALL Tibia.cfg customizations server-side, including hotkeys for each character! :D
3. Some widgets can be used, others can't. Should these three widgets be usable in a way that is not offered now? Why is that important for you?
Status bars: if there any special bars active, add a third bar below mana's bar, and make it clickable, so when you do it, an flyout is opened, with all detailed information (the other bars separately)
Battle list: add a tab system, with the tabs "All" (by default), "Creatures" (by default), "Players" (by default), "Friends" (optional, based on VIP list), "Enemies" (optional, based on VIP list), "Guild" (optional, works only if in a guild), "Enemy Guild" (optional, works only if war mode is active), "Party" (optional, works only if in a party). Then, add a sorting filter (by "health", "by name", etc), and add the option "heal this friend" (druid's only). All the optional tabs would be activated/deactivated by clicking on a button on the title bar (a flyout is opened).
VIP list: add a tab system also, very similar to the system explained above on "Battle list", except for the "Creatures" tab, which doesn't fit in here, of course. Every time you add somebody to your VIP list, it will be added on "All" tab, then you may customize its details and proper tab by clicking on a button at the title bar (insert a flyout here). The tabs "Guild", "Enemy Guild" and "Party" are automatic filled.
Notice: the "automatic filled" tabs on battle and vip lists are only shown as option for premium accounts only, which will need to be benefited also by unlimited VIP list space (or at least limited by guild/party limits).
4. Is there anything else you would like to tell us about the sidebar?
Just make all windows attachable, and let players hover the widgets freely (but dont let them place the widgets over the game window, so people may have gameplay problems).
For the battle list, optimize its performance (it's the one of the most "lag causer" on the current client).
That's all for now. I hope you enjoy my ideas!
