"Last man standing"



It was a stormy night, I've had trouble falling asleep, even though the day was long and tiring.
I dreamt of an old friend - Tsamir, who passed away many years ago in our youth.
He was very worried and uneasy in that dream of mine.
He ran through the forest in the rain on a cold night, as if someone chased him.
I asked him - Why are you upset, Tsamir? He looked behind and responded with fear - THEY ARE CLOSER.
When I turned around I didn't see anyone chasing us, but for some reason I started feeling uneasy aswell.
Before I could tell him, that noone is following us, he had vanished.

Suddanly I got woken up by a thunder - as I previously thought, but it was something else...
When looked outside the window and I couldn't believe my eyes. Horde of minotaurs was forcing it's way to town,
Dallheim called for reinforcements, Zerbrus and two other people ran to his aid.

I put on my armor as fast as I could and got downstairs,
I saw people building a makeshift barricade in the square, so I joined them.
We didn't have much time, out of the corner of my eye I saw the guards struggling with the intruders.
Screams were heard in the distance, children cried, people gathered in the temple and prayed to gods.

By the time minotaurs passed the bridge we have finished building the construction.
Old Dallheim and Zerbrus have both died. We knew we couldn't stand a chance after that.
You could hear growls and battering of the axes getting louder with every second as they approached.
When they got to the flimsy wooden barricade, they began to smash it with large rocks and weapons.
It fell apart faster than we expected.

When the inevitable finally reached us, we were prepared to die.
Minotaurs seemed insignificant as we fought for our lives.
Only one thing ran through my mind - avenging my friend Tsamir, who died at the hand of a minotaur.

After dozens of cuts and thrusts I looked around at the blood bath and realized
I'm alone against the last minotaur, he was wounded in the stomach.
I threw my sword away and picked a spear off the ground, to keep the distance from the beast.
When he swung his axe I thrusted sharp spearhead right in his open wound.
He fell on his knees, but still wielded his weapon.

I looked at him with disgust. Injured in my legs I slowly went back for my sword,
when I came back and approached him, he bellowed evil warcry, knowing his destiny.
I chopped off his arm in which he held the axe, that took lives of my comrades,
then pierced the vicious creature with cold metal and spat on it.

I sat on the ground right where I stood, surrounded by the dead.
I put my face in my hands and started crying in disbelief.
The moon reflected in a pool of blood, covering half of the square.
Storm was over, as if it knew the battle has come to an end...
...though it will never end inside my torn soul.

Are you sure you were the first to get distance level 26 in Rook? Someone with distance level 27 got deleted a few days ago...

Rio Marie got his dist on cockroaches with level 1, he was a well known botter.
Technically botters should get deleted on the first day they used bot, and should be disqualified from any top list.

That "A" in old client we talked about stands for Ammunition (number is visible only when player is holding a bow/xbow).
