Hello all,
please use this thread to discuss and provide feedback on the Cyclopedia! As already announced in our teaser post, the Cyclopedia's main goal is helping you optimize your hunting sessions by providing metrics of your current performance.
Feature summary
The following new windows will make their way into the game:
1. Cyclopedia
Can be accessed with a new button next to the Compendium on the sidebar button panel. In this window, you can see a list of all items tradable in the market, and for each item, the item's stats, vendor locations, market average price for your world, and custom (player-defined) price.
The "Resulting value"[B] will either be an item's NPC price, market price, or your custom price, depending on your selection on the left side below "Loot Value Source"[B]. This value will be used for all sorts of computations whenever an item price is required in other Cyclopedia windows.
The "Track drops"[B] buttons allows you to track item drops, which will be listed in the "Loot Tracker"[B] window.
Notable information:
- The market average price is the average of buy and sell prices on your world.
- By default, all items use the NPC price to determine their value.
- If an item has no NPC buy price, the market price will be used instead, and vice versa.
- Premium players can specify a custom price which will take precedence over both NPC and market price.
- A maximum of five items can be monitored for drop at once. Premium players have this limit increased to 20.
2. Loot Analyser
Along with all other Analyser windows, this window can be opened using the "Analysis Selector"[B], which can be accessed from the sidebar button panel, below the Options button.
This window allows you to track looted items during your play session. For all looted items, a gold value is determined using the value specified in the Cyclopedia window. Using this value, your total loot value and loot/hour are computed.
Notable information:
- An item is considered looted when it is moved from a creature's corpse into your backpack. Due to technical limitations, an item can be "looted" several times if you move the item (or any item) back into the corpse and move it into your backpack again.
- Similarly, looting a container from a corpse, e.g. a backpack, only tracks the backpack as loot, not any items inside the container.
3. Waste Analyser
As the "counterpart"[B] of the Loot Analyser, the Waste Analyser tracks the waste during your hunt, and calculates total waste and waste/hour in gold.
Notable information:
- At the moment, only potions, runes and ammunition are considered waste.
4. Impact Analyser
This window shows your damage and healing numbers during your hunt. In the window options (the button next to "Minimise" and "Close", you can switch from "Damage/Healing computed over session" to "Damage/healing computed over the last few seconds" depending on your needs.
Notable information:
- Damaging a creature with an element the creature absorbs is counted as healing.
- Similarly, some creatures are weak to healing spells. Healing these creatures actually damages them, which means the healing is instead counted as damage in the window.
5. Progress Analyser
Shows current XP gain and time to next level with your current progress.
Notable information:
- The formula to compute your current XP/hour has been slightly modified for increased accuracy at shorter time intervals. This means that you may see some small differences in your displayed XP/hour compared to the current live values when hunting your usual spots at your usual speed.
6. Hunting Session Analyser
Gives a summary of most values mentioned above. This window is handy to keep track of all important values in little space during your play session.
Notable information:
- A hunting session starts when you log in, and ends when you log out.
- You can start a new session, discarding previously collected data, at any time. Starting a new hunting session also resets the data in all other Analytics windows.
7. Loot Tracker
This window will list all items marked for tracking in the Cyclopedia dialog. Whenever a monster drops one of your desired items, the name of the monster will appear in the dialog.
As a premium player, you can also specify a loot value threshold. Items above this value will automatically appear in the Loot Tracker.
Notable information:
- A maximum of five items can be tracked at once. Premium players can track up to 20 items.
- The list of tracked items is saved on a character-by-character basis, as well as most other preferences in the various Cyclopedia windows (for example, custom item prices).
- Keep in mind, if you are already tracking the maximum amount of items, newly dropped items that exceed the loot value threshold will not be displayed.
8. Quest Tracker
Allows you to keep tabs on your current quests easily without having to open the Quest Log dialog each time. The Quest Tracker can be opened in the Quest Log Dialog.
Notable information:
- The maximum amount of quests that can be tracked at once is five. For premium players, the number is increased to 20.
- Quests aren't automatically untracked when finished. If you no longer need the quest tracked, you can remove it at any time by right-clicking on the text in the Quest Tracker.
- Hovering over quest text will show the Quest Line and Quest names.
In closing
That being said, we are looking forward to your feedback and hope you will enjoy and make good use of these new features. Have fun!
