The Vortexes Perversos
The twelve Perversos Vortexes are areas distributed more or less uniform around the globe and is alleged to possess the same qualities attributed to the Bermuda Triangle. Five are located at a latitude near the Tropic of Capricorn, five in latitude near the Tropic of Cancer, and one in each of the Poles. They form the vertices of an icosahedron. Like the Bermuda Triangle, the Devil's Triangle (or Devil's Sea) is one of the twelve areas. The Devil's Triangle is considered the cause of the disappearance of Amelia Earhart, a famous American aviation pioneer, author and advocate the rights of women who disappeared over the central Pacific Ocean near Howland Island during an attempt to make a flight circumnavigating the globe in 1937. In the picture above the vortices are marked with a different color (light green).
The disappearance of Frederick Valentich
The disappearance of Frederick Valentich was an event which occurred on 21 October 1978, when the young man of twenty Frederick Valentich disappeared in unexplained circumstances while piloting a Cessna 182L light aircraft over the Bass Strait to King Island, Australia. Prior to his disappearance, Valentich reported by radio that he had found an unidentified aircraft that was moving at the same speed as his plane and floated on it. No trace of Valentich or his aircraft were ever found. Just before the last contact Valentich the Plumber Roy Manifold armed with a camera tripod in time-lapse (time-lapse photography is a technique used in movies in which the object is photographed in focus at certain periods of time. To be more precise, is when it captures every frame) on the shore to photograph the sun setting over the water. When their pictures were revealed, appeared to show an object moving very fast out of the water. Manifold said the photos were taken at approximately 18:47 h, or 20 minutes before Valentich had reported to be difficulties. Moments before a strange noise cease communication Valentich, he said: "My intentions are - ah - to go to King Island - ah Melbourne. That strange aircraft is hovering over me again (open microphone for two seconds). Is floating and is not an aircraft. "
Money Pit "(something like the Money Pit) from Oak Island
The "Money Pit" of Oak Island is the site of the longest hunt for lost treasure in the world. For hundreds of years, treasure hunters have ventured to Nova Scotia and tried to recover the treasure which is protected by a series of ingenious traps. Strange artifacts made by man were recovered from the well over the years, but until now, the treasure remains buried. Pirates, Knights Templar or Francis Bacon - no one knows for sure who created this mysterious money pit or why. There are extensive speculation as to who originally dug the pit and what it can hold. Platforms gravel were discovered every 3 meters. There are marks of picks in the walls of the well of money and the land is remarkably loose and not compact. The flood tunnel to 27 meters was identified and it is known that is covered with flat stones. Some have speculated that the Oak Island pit was dug to hold treasure much more exotic than gold or silver. In his 1953 book, "The Oak Island Enigma: A History and Inquiry Into the Origin of the Money Pit, Penn Leary claimed that English philosopher Francis Bacon used the pit to hide documents proving that he is the author of Shakespeare . Noah's Ark - found?
The Ararat anomaly is an object appearing on photographs of the snowfields near the summit of Mount Ararat, Turkey, and suggested by some believers in the Bible literalism as the remains of Noah's Ark. The anomaly is located at the northwest corner of the Plateau West of Mount Ararat is approximately 5,000 meters. It was filmed for the first time during a reconnaissance mission of the Air Force of the United States in 1949 - the Ararat massif located in the old Turkish frontier / Soviet Union, and so it was an area of military interest - and therefore was given the classification of "secret" as were subsequent photographs being taken in 1956, 1973, 1976, 1990 and 1992, by aircraft and satellites. Six frames (frames) of the filming of 1949 were released during the Act of Freedom of Information. A research project was later established between Insight Magazine and Space Imaging (now "GeoEye"), using the IKONOS satellite. The IKONOS, on its maiden voyage, captured the anomaly on 5 August and 13 September 2000. The area of Mount Ararat was also imaged by the French SPOT satellite in 1989, Landsat in the 1970s and by the NASA Space Shuttle in 1994.

The burning of Jeannie Saffin

There are many famous cases of people who seem to have caught fire spontaneously (spontaneous human combustion), but there is the less known and has suffered this death in front of witnesses. Approximately 16 hours of a Wednesday, September 15, 1982, Jeannie Saffin, 61, burst into flames while sitting in his wooden Windsor chair in the kitchen of his home in Edmonton, London, England. His father, the lord of 82 years Jack Saffin, was sitting at a table nearby said he saw a flash of light at the corner of his eye and turned to Jeannie to ask if she had seen. He was stunned to discover that it was enveloped in flames, mainly around his face and hands. Mr Saffin said Jeannie did not cry or move, but simply sat there with his hands in her lap. Her father dragged her to the sink, badly burning his own hands, and began trying to douse the flames with water. Jeannie went into a coma and died 8 days later. The officers who conducted the investigation as a possible murder reported to the court that the judge could not find a cause for the burning of Jeannie. There was no sign of scorching or burning anywhere in the room unless the body of Jeannie. The image above is another case of human combustion, because no image of Jeannie Saffin was found.
The mysterious Kaspar Hauser
On May 26, 1828, a teenager has appeared on the streets of Nuremberg, Germany. He carried with him a letter that was addressed to the captain of the sixth regiment of cavalry. The anonymous author said that the boy had been given to him in custody as a child, 7 October 1812, and he never left him "take a single step out of my house." Now the boy wanted to be a yeoman, so the captain should either get it or hang him. Hauser claimed that he had until he could remember, spent his life all alone in a dark cell of 2 × 1 × 1.5 meters (slightly more than the size of a single bed in area) with only a bed of straw and a horse carved in wood as a toy. Hauser claimed that the first human being he ever had contact was a mystery man, who had visited him not long before his release, always taking great care not to reveal her face to him. According to contemporary rumors - probably current at the peak in early 1829 - Kaspar Hauser was the hereditary prince of Baden, who was born on September 29, 1812 and who died in a month. It was argued that this prince has been replaced by a baby dying, and that really had appeared 16 years later as "Kaspar Hauser" in Nuremberg. Hauser died after being wounded by a stab in the chest, possibly self-inflicted. He claimed to have been stabbed by the man who kept him as a child.
In 2002, the University of Münster analyzed hair and body cells from locks of hair and items of clothing that claimed to be Kaspar Hauser. DNA samples were compared with the DNA segment of Astrid von Medinger, a descendant of the female line of Stéphanie de Beauharnais, who would have been Kaspar Hauser's mother if indeed he was the hereditary prince of Baden. The sequences were not identical, but the observed deviation was not large enough to exclude a relationship, it could have been caused by a mutation.
The Man in the Iron Mask
The Man in the Iron Mask (he died in November 1703) was a prisoner who was kept in a number of arrests, including the Bastille and the Chateau d'If, during the reign of Louis XIV of France. The identity of this man has already been thoroughly discussed, mainly because no one ever saw his face, which was hidden by a mask of black velvet. Later recounting the story have claimed that it was an iron mask. The earliest surviving records of the masked prisoner are from 1669, when the minister of Louis XIV sent a prisoner to the care of the governor's arrest Pignerol. According to the letter of Louvois, the man's name was Eustache Dauger. Louvois instructed Saint-Mars to prepare a cell with multiple doors which were to prevent anyone from outside to hear something inside. The Dauger also been told that if he spoke of something that was not their immediate needs he would be killed. Saint-Mars Dauger would see only once a day to provide food and whatever else he needed. He spent his remaining years in prison, with his true identity is hidden. When he died, all his belongings were burned. Theories about identity created over time include that he was Marshal of France and Richard Cromwell, son of Oliver Cromwell, or Francois de Vendôme, Duc de Beaufort. Later, many people, like Voltaire, have created other theories about the man in the iron mask.
Stones Mariners
The stones are sailors a geological phenomenon found in Racetrack Playa (a periodically dry lake that is located in the northern part of the Panamint Mountains in Death Valley National Park, California, USA) The stones slowly move across the surface of the playa, leaving a trail as walk, without human or animal. They have never been seen or filmed in motion, and are not unique to Racetrack. Travel patterns of similar stones have been recorded in several other playas in the region, but the number and length of the trails travel Racetrack are notable. Racetrack stones only move every two or three years and most tracks last only three or four years. Based rough stones leave straight striated tracks while those with flat base wander. The stone is sometimes seen, exposing the other end to the ground and leaving a trail of different size in the wake of the stone.
Various and sometimes idiosyncratic possible explanations have been proposed over the years that range from the supernatural to very complex. Most hypotheses favored by interested geologists say strong winds when the mud is wet are at least partly responsible. Some weigh as much as a human being, which some researchers such as geologist George M. Stanley, who published a scientific paper in 1955, think they are too heavy for a wind in the area to move them.

Signal WOW!
Signal WOW! was a strong radio signal and tuning range close detected by Dr. Jerry R. Ehman on August 15, 1977 while working on a project of the SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence - Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) telescope at the Big Ear of the State University of Ohio. The sign marks punched expected source potential non-terrestrial and non-solar system. It lasted 72 seconds, the full length that the Big Ear observed, but was not detected again. He has been the focus of media attention when discussing the results of SETI. The Big Ear telescope was fixed and uses the Earth's rotation to scan the sky. At the speed of rotation of the earth, and given the width of the window of observation of the Big Ear, it can observe any given point for just 72 seconds. An extraterrestrial signal, thus it is expected to have been recorded by just 72 seconds, and record the intensity of this signal would show a gradual peak for the first 36 seconds - until the signal reaches the center of the window of observation of the Big Ear - in the at that time would show a gradual decrease. Then, both the length of the signal WOW!, 72 seconds, as its shape would correspond to an extraterrestrial origin. The region of sky where the signal was heard is located in the constellation Sagittarius, roughly 2.5 degrees south of fifth magnitude star Chi-1 Sagittarii.
The Zodiac Killer
The Zodiac killer was active in Northern California for ten months in late 1960. He killed at least five people and wounded two others. He made the first two murders with a pistol, within the boundary of Benecos. In his second shooting in Vallejo, he attempted to kill two people, but one survived despite gunshot wounds in the head and neck. 40 minutes after police received a call from a man claiming to be the murderer they were looking for, and admitting the murders of the two latest victims. One month three letters were sent to newspapers in California containing a written code, which the killer claimed would reveal to them your name. The code was cracked and it reads:

The last 8 letters have been deciphered. While Arthur Leigh Allen is the prime suspect, all evidence against him would be the killer. To date, the Zodiac murders have not been resolved.
Jack the Ripper
In the second half of 1888, London was terrorized by a series of murders in the East End (Jewish neighborhood in East London) (mainly in the Whitechapel area). The name "Jack the Ripper" was taken from a letter to the newspaper at the time, by a person claiming to be the killer. The victims were usually prostitutes, who had their throats cut and bodies mutilated. In some cases the bodies were found just minutes after the killer left the scene of the crime.
At the time the police had several suspects, but never found enough evidence to convince people. In more recent times there has been some speculation that Prince Albert Victor was the murderer. Even with modern police methods, no new light was thrown on the murders. Until now, nobody knows who the Ripper was.
The Voynich manuscript
The Voynich manuscript is a medieval document written in an unknown alphabet and a language unknown. For over one hundred years people have tried to break the code, without success. The overall feel of the surviving pages of the manuscript suggests that it should serve as a pharmacopoeia or to discuss topics of medieval medicine and even modern medicine. Anyway, the strange details of the illustrations inspired several theories on the origin of the book, the contents of your text, and for what purpose was intended.
The document contains illustrations that suggest that the book has six parts: Herbal, Astronomical, Biological, Cosmological, Pharmaceutical, and recipes.
Count of St. Germain
The Count of St. Germain (claims that he died on February 27, 1784) was a courtier, adventurer, inventor, amateur scientist, violinist, amateur composer and a strange gentleman, he also showed some skills with the practice of alchemy. He was known as "Der wundermann" - something like "the man wonder." He was a man whose origin was unknown and who disappeared without a trace.
Since his death, various occult organizations have adopted it as a model, or even as a powerful deity. In recent times several people claimed to be the Count of St. Germain. (note that the St. - holy - have nothing to do with the Roman Catholic Church, but with the place that he would be home.)
Dahlia
In 1947 the body of 22 year-old Elizabeth Short was found in two pieces in a parking lot in Los Angeles. According to newspaper reports shortly after the murder, Short received the nickname "Black Dahlia" at a pharmacy in Long Beach in the summer of 1946, as a play on the then-current movie The Blue Dahlia "(The Blue Dahlia) . In any event, the reports of research attorney in the district of Los Angeles said the nickname was invented by the newspapers that were covering the murder. In any case, Short was not known as "Black Dahlia" during her life.
Many legends and rumors have spread about the Black Dahlia, and research (one of the largest in the history of LA) never found the killer.
The "Taos hum"
The "Taos hum is a sound of low tone (serious) heard in many places around the world, especially in the United States, United Kingdom and northern Europe. Usually it is heard only in quiet environments, and is often described as appearing to be the sound of a distant diesel engine. Since it was proven to be undetectable by microphones or VLF antennae, its source and nature are still a mystery.
In 1997, Congress ordered the scientists and observers from some of the most prestigious research institutes in the nation to investigate a strange low-frequency noise heard by residents in and near a small town called Taos, New Mexico. For years those who heard the noise, often described by them as a "hum", have sought answers. To date, no one knows the cause of hum.
Maria Celeste (Mary Celeste)
The Mary Celeste was launched in Nova Scotia, in 1860. Its original name was "Amazon" (Amazon). She was 31 feet long, moved 280 tons and was registered as a half-brig. For the next 10 years the ship was involved in numerous accidents at sea, and went through a number of owners. In the end he appeared at an auction of "salvation" in which it was purchased for $ 3,000. After many repairs, was placed on American record and renamed "Mary Celeste".
The new captain of the Mary Celeste was Benjamin Briggs, 37, a master with three previous commands. On 7 November 1872, the ship left New York with Captain Briggs, his wife, young daughter and a crew of eight. The ship was loaded with 1700 barrels of raw American alcohol, bound for Genoa, Italy. The captain, his family and crew were never seen again. The ship was found floating in the middle of the Strait of Gibraltar. In early 1873, it was reported that two rescue boats stranded in Spain, one with a body and an American flag, the other containing five bodies. It has been argued that these must have been the remains of the crew of the Mary Celeste. However, apparently the bodies were never identified.
The Shroud of Turin
The shroud of Turin is a piece of flax that contains the image of a man who apparently died of crucifixion. Many Catholics consider it as the cloak that wrapped the body of Jesus Christ. He is currently kept in the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Turin, Italy. Despite many scientific investigations, no one has managed to explain how the image was printed on the shroud, and despite several attempts, no one has managed to replicate the feat. Radiocarbon dated to the Middle Ages, but the apologists for the shroud believe it is incorrupt - and carbon dating can only date things which decay.
Previous to the middle ages, reports of the shroud exist as the Image of Edessa - reliably reported since at least the 4th century. In addition, another cloth (the Shroud), known since biblical times (John 20:7) is said to have covered the head of Christ in the tomb. A study of 1999 quake! Mark, a member of the multidisciplinary research team of the Spanish Center for Sindonology, investigated the relationship between the two tissues. Based on history, forensic pathology, blood type (the Shroud is reported to have AB blood stains), and patterns of spots, he concluded that the two tissues covered the same head at two different times, but next time. Avinoam Danin (a researcher at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem) concurred with this analysis, adding that the pollen grains on the Shroud are the same as the shroud.
Grooved balls
For decades, miners in South Africa have dug up mysterious metal spheres. The origin is unknown, these spheres measure approximately 2.5 cm in diameter, and some are carved with three parallel grooves circling around the equator. Two types of balls have been found: one consisting of a solid bluish metal with white spots, the other has a hollow, filled with a spongy white substance. The amazing story is that the rock they were found is the Precambrian - and dated to 2.8 billion years old! Who made them and for what purpose, is still unknown.
The Stones Dropped
In 1938, an archeological expedition led by Dr. Chi Pu Tei into the mountains Baian-Kara-Ula of China made an astonishing discovery in some caves that were apparently occupied by some ancient culture. Buried under the dust of ages on the cave floor were hundreds of stone disks. Measuring approximately 23cm in diameter, each one has a circle cut in the center, and was carved with a spiral groove, making it look, very similar to an old vinyl record, 10,000 to 12,000 years old. The spiral grooves, as it turned out, are actually composed of tiny hieroglyphics that tell the incredible story of spaceships from some distant world, which landed in the mountains. The ships were piloted by people who call themselves the "drop", and the remains of their descendants, possibly, were discovered in the cave.
Ica stones
In early 1930, the father of Dr. Javier Cabrera, Cultural Anthropologist for Ica, Peru, discovered many hundreds of stone inscriptions in the tombs of the ancient Incas. Dr. Cabrera, carrying on the work of his father, has already collected more than 1,100 of these andesite stones, which is estimated to have between 500 and 1,500 years old, and are popularly known as the Ica stones. The stones have carvings, many with drawings sex (which is common in this culture), some show portray idols and other practices such as cardiovascular surgery and brain transplants. The notches more surprising, however, clearly represent dinosaurs - Apatosaurus, Triceratops, Stegosaurus and pterosaurs. While skeptics consider the stones Icas a fraud, its authenticity has never been proven nor disproven ...
Book EEO Linda
The book EEO Linda is a controversial manuscript Frisian (Friesland, the former province of the Netherlands) which deals with historical subjects, mythological and religious, who first came to light in the 19th century. The issues described in EEO Linda include catastrophism, nationalism, matriarchy, and mythology. The text argues that Europe and other lands were, for much of its history, ruled by a succession of matriarchs presiding over a hierarchical order of celibate priestesses dedicated to the goddess Frya, daughter of the supreme god Wr-alda, and Irtha the mother earth. The allegation also says that civilization Friesland had an alphabet that was the ancestor of Greek and Phoenician alphabets. The manuscript of the season has the date 1256. Internal claims suggest that this is a copy of an older manuscript, which, if genuine, would have been written by various people between 2194 BC and 803 AD
Impossible Fossils
Fossils, as we learned in school, appear in rocks that were formed many thousands of years ago. Still, there are a number of fossils that do not make sense, or geology, or history. The fossil of a digital human, for example, was found in limestone estimated at 110 million years old. What seems to be a human finger, which was found in the Canadian Arctic also dates from 100 to 110 million years ago. And what seems to be the fossil of a human footprint, possibly wearing a sandal, was found near Delta, Utah in a shale deposit estimated to have 300 to 600 million years old.
Metallic Objects Disadvantages
Humans were not even around for 65 million years ago that had people working the metal. So how science explains the metallic tubes dug semi-ovoid of a chalk Cretaceous 65 million years in France? In 1885, a block of coal was broken and found a cube of metal, obviously made by intelligent hands. In 1912, employees of a power plant broke a large piece of coal which fell an iron pot! A nail was found nestled in a sandstone block from the Mesozoic Era. And there are many, many more such anomalies.
The Ark of the Covenant
The Ark is considered the greatest of all the hidden treasures, and its discovery would provide an irrefutable truth that the Old Testament is a concrete fact. The recovery remains the goal of every modern archaeologist and adventurer. Its purpose was to contain the ten commandments given by God in blocks of stone to Moses on Mount Sinai. According to the book of Exodus, the Ark was made of acacia wood and covered with gold inside and out. It was covered with a Mercy where they were two carved cherubim of gold. Believed to have supernatural powers because of a series of events, including the deaths of a man who tried to steady the Ark (where the transport of oxen stumbled) down the walls of Jericho in a battle and spread havoc on the Philistines after that have captured. There are various speculations about the place where the Ark rests and need a keen worker to find her, and one person even more courageous and fearless to open it!
Angel Hair
The "angel hair" is a rare phenomenon, which so far has defied explanation. It is made of silky filaments that "rain" on earth, but come on to get them and they will disappear in front of your eyes. It is a worldwide phenomenon, occurring most commonly in North America, New Zealand, Australia and Western Europe. There is no known evidence for what causes this substance, or even what it is made. The speculations are that they are spiders or other insect guarantor of silk, and even UFOs, it usually is associated with UFO sightings. Because of their sensitive nature, is difficult to collect them and analyze them, since they are subject to contamination from exhaust fumes from cars, and even human contact, which could distort the results of chemical.
The map of Piri Reis
The Piri Reis map is a famous world map pre-modern 16th century made by the cartographer and admirer Ottoman-Turkish, Piri Reis. The map shows part of the western coasts of Europe and North Africa with reasonable accuracy, and the coast of Brazil is also easily recognized. Various Atlantic islands including the Azores and the Canary Islands are depicted, as well as the mythical Island of Seven Cities (Antilles). The map is notable for its description of a mass of land in the south that some controversially claim is evidence of an ancient awareness of the existence of Antarctica. Some scholars argue that this and other maps support the theory of a global exploration by a pre-classical civilization as yet undiscovered.
The age of the Pyramids and the Sphinx
Most Egyptologists believe the Great Sphinx of Giza plateau is about 4,500 years old. But that number is just that - a belief, a theory, not a fact. As Robert Bauval says in "The Age of the Sphinx" (The Age of the Sphinx), "there is no registration - not even one - is carved on a wall or pillar or in writing heaps of papyri that associates the Sphinx with the period of time. Then, when it was built? John Anthony West challenged the accepted age of the monument when he noticed the vertical erosion at its base, which could only have been caused by long exposure to water in the form of heavy rains. In the middle of the desert? Where did the water come? What happens is that this area of the world has ever experienced such rains - about 10,500 years ago! This would cause the Sphinx had double the current accepted age. Bauval and Graham Hancock estimated that the Great Pyramid also dates from about 10,500 BC - predating the Egyptian civilization. The Nazca Lines
The famous Nazca lines can be found in a desert is about 321km south of Lima, Peru. In a plain measuring about 59 km long and 1.6 km wide are etched lines and figures that have puzzled scientists since its discovery in the 1930s. The lines flow perfectly straight, some parallel to each other, often intersecting, making them seem, for those looking from above, landing strips of old airports. This stimulated Erich Von Daniken in his book "Chariots of the Gods" to suggest that they were in fact clues to alien spacecraft. More intriguing are the giant figures of 70 - some animals recorded in the soil - a monkey, a spider and a hummingbird, and others. What is appalling is that these lines and figures were made on such a scale that can only be recognized at a high altitude. So what's the meaning of them? Some believe that having some astronomical purpose, while others believe that were used for religious ceremonies. A recent theory suggests that the lines lead to sources of precious water. The truth is that nobody really knows.
The location of Atlantis
There are many, many, many theories about the true location of Atlantis. We got the legend of Atlantis of Plato, who wrote about the beautiful, technologically advanced island-continent in 370 BC, but the description that the philosopher made his location was limited and vague. Many, of course, concluded that Atlantis never existed. Those who believe in its existence have been looking for evidence or at least clues in virtually every corner of the world. The famous prophecies of Edgar Cayce said that remnants of Atlantis would be found near Bermuda, and in 1969, geometric stone formations were found near Bimini (also known as the "Bimini Road") which believers say confirm the predictions of Cayce. Other proposed sites for the location of Atlantis include: Antarctica, Mexico, off the coast of England, possibly even off the coast of Cuba (see further on). The controversy and the theories will certainly continue until someone figured out a sign saying "Welcome to Atlantis. Eat at Joe's. "

All the concern is based on the discovery that the Mayan calendar's "Long Count" (sometimes also called "Large Account) will expire on a date that corresponds to our December 21, 2012. The Mummy of Spirit Cave
In 1940, a team of husband-and-wife archaeologists, Sydney and Georgia Wheeler, discovered a mummy in "Spirit Cave, 20 km east of Fallon, Nevada. In concluding Spirit Cave they discovered the remains of two people caught in a wake of tulle. Part of the remains, buried deeper than the others, was partially mummified (the head and right shoulder). The Wheelers, with the help of locals recovered a total of 67 artifacts from the cave. These artifacts were examined at the Nevada State Museum, which had estimated that between 1,500 and 2,000 years old. 54 years later, in 1994, the University of California, Riverside, anthropologist R. Erv Taylor examined seventeen of the artifacts from Spirit Cave using mass spectrometry. The results indicated that the mummy was about 9400 years old - older than any other American mummy. Later studies determined that the mummy exhibits characteristics similar to Caucasoid Ainu (an ethnic Japanese), although a definitive association has not been established.
Egyptian treasures at the Grand Canyon
The edition of April 5, 1909 Arizona Gazette had an article entitled "Explorations in Grand Canyon: Remarkable finds indicate ancient people migrated from Orient." (Explorations in Grand Canyon: amazing discoveries indicate that ancient people migrated from the East) in accordance the article, the expedition was funded by the Smithsonian Institute and discovered artifacts that would, if verified, clinching the conventional story. Within a cave, "carved in the rock by human hands", were found tablets with hieroglyphics, weapons and tools of copper, statues of Egyptian deities and mummies. Although highly intriguing, the truth of the story is questioned because the site was rediscovered in more. The Smithsonian denies any knowledge of the discovery, and several expeditions in search of the cave turned up empty-handed. Was the article just a rumor? "Although one can not ignore the whole story can be an elaborate fraud, a newspaper," writes researcher / explorer David Hatcher Childress, "the fact that he was on the front page, quoting the prestigious Smithsonian Institution, and has given a highly detailed story that continued for several pages, gives a high value on its credibility. Mu or Lemuria
The legendary lost world of Mu, also known as Lemuria, is almost as famous as Atlantis, and indeed sometimes are close to equal. According to the tradition of many Pacific islands, Mu was a tropical paradise such as "Eden", located somewhere in the Pacific and sank, with all its beautiful people for thousands of years ago (sounds familiar ...). Like Atlantis, there is a debate exists, and if so, where.
Travel the Americas
It is said that Christopher Columbus "discovered" America, but of course we all know better than that, long before his people / people were here, even settled. Native Americans arrived here many centuries before Columbus, and there is good evidence that operators of other civilizations that Columbus won well. Artifacts were found suggesting that ancient cultures explored the continent. Pottery and Greek and Roman coins were found in the United States and Mexico, statues of Osiris and Isis were found in Mexico, and there is evidence of Egyptians at the Grand Canyon (see above). Ancient Hebrew and Asian artifacts were also found. Stories travelers from distant lands in native myths and folklore also suggest the likelihood.
The truth is that we know very little about the ancient cultures of travelers.
The Sunken City off Cuba's coast
In May 2001, an exciting discovery was made by Advanced Digital Communications (ADC) that was mapping the ocean floor in the territorial waters of Cuba. As ruínas submersas do Japão

O Mothman (”Homem Mariposa”)
“Mothman” é o nome dado a uma estranha criatura relatada nas áreas de Charleston e Point Pleasant, West Virginia, entre Novembro de 1966 e Dezembro de 1967. Antes e depois destas datas há relatos apenas esporádicos de avistamento, com alguns tendo sido recentemente, em 2007.
A maior parte das testemunhas oculares descrevem o Mothman como uma criatura com asas, do tamanho de um homem, com grandes e brilhantes olhos vermelhos. Freqüentemente aparece como não tendo cabeça, com seus olhos situados no peito. Um número de hipóteses já foram apresentadas para explicar os relatos das testemunhas oculares, indo desde o erro na identificação e coincidência ao fenômeno paranormal e teorias de conspirações.
O Mothman foi identificado pela primeira vez em 1926, por um menino. No mesmo período, três homens que estavam cavando uma cova, em um cemitério ali perto, viram uma figura humana marrom com asas, levantando vôo detrás das árvores. D.B. Cooper
D. B. Cooper (ou “Dan Cooper”) é o pseudônimo dado ao notório seqüestrador de aviões que, em 24 de Novembro de 1971, depois de receber um pagamento de resgate de U$200.000, saltou da parte traseira de um Boeing 727 enquanto voava sobre o Noroeste do Pacífico, em algum lugar na área sul de Cascades.
Desde então Cooper nunca mais foi visto e não se sabe se sobreviveu ao salto. Em 1980, um menino encontrou U$5.800 em notas encharcadas de U$20,00 nas margens do rio Columbia. Os números seriais combinaram com àqueles do dinheiro de resgate, que foram anotados para ser mais fácil rastrear Cooper depois.
Cooper escapou do avião pulando pela parte de trás da escada aérea com um páraquedas, fazendo com que as autoridades da aviação incluíssem medidas rigorosas à respeito do design dos aviões para prevenir que isso acontecesse novamente. The Chupacabras
The Chupacabra is most commonly associated with Latino communities in the U.S., Mexico and Puerto Rico (where was the first report). Supostamente é uma criatura pesada, do tamanho de um urso pequeno, com uma linha de espinhos do pescoço até a base da cauda, e o seu nome vem do fato de que supostamente ataque animais e beba seu sangue - especialmente de cabras.

The most common description of Chupacabra is a lizard to be kind, seems to have a skin of leather or greyish-green scales and sharp spines or small, running all over his back. This form is approximately 1 to 1.2 meters high, and stands up and jumps in a manner similar to a kangaroo. In at least one sighting, the creature jumped 6 meters. This variety is said to have a nose like that of a dog or panther, a forked tongue protruding, large canines, and whistles and hisses when scared, and leave a sulfuric stench behind. When it sizzles, some reports note that the chupacabra's eyes glow with an unusual red which gives the witnesses nausea. Some witnesses saw him with wings like a bat.
Bigfoot
Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch (see the post with the documentary about Bigfoot, here) is described as a man half-ape that inhabits forests of the Pacific Northwest and parts of the province of British Columbia, Canada. Over the years there have been many sightings and photographs of Bigfoot but no conclusive evidence proving its existence.
Many experts consider the subject the legend of Bigfoot as a combination of foclore with rumors, but there are a number of authors and researchers who believe that the stories may be true. Jimmy Hoffa

Luzes de Marfa
As luzes de Marfa são luzes inexplicáveis (também chamadas luzes fantamas) que têm aparecido em Mitchell Flat, leste de Marfa, Texas. O primeiro relato publicado das luzes foi feito em 1957, mas Robert Reed Ellison (nascido em 1880) as reportou à sua família e relatos de suas aparições se espalharam de boca em boca. As cores são geralmente descritas como sendo branco, amarelo, alaranjado ou vermelho, porém azul e verde também são relatados às vezes. Elas normalmente movem-se lateralmente, mas já foram vistas se movendo rapidamente em várias direções. Os avistamentos são raros, mas há um grande número de evidências fotográficas e filmagens.

A Colônia Roanoke

Ele retornou da viagem com dois índios americanos, e amostras de animais e plantas. Entre 1585 e 1587, dois grupos de colonizadores foram deixados na ilha de Roanoke (parte da atual Carolina do Norte) para fixar seu assentamento.
Por causa de lutas contínuas com os nativos das tribos locais, a primeira colônia estava com pouca comida e homens para defender o assentamento; então quando sir Francis Drake os visitou depois de uma invasão no Caribe e se ofereceu para levá-los de volta para a Inglaterra, eles aceitaram e foram embora. Em 1587, 121 novos colonizadores chegaram e descobriram os nativos locais (os Croatans) como sendo amistosos. A primeira criança inglesa nascida nas Américas foi a filha de um desses colonizadores. O grupo tentou ser amigável com algumas outras tribos que os colonizadores anteriores haviam brigado, o que resultou no assassinato de George Howe. Os membros restantes do grupo convenceram o líder a retornar à Inglaterra e trazer ajuda. O líder (John White) retornou à Inglaterra deixando para trás noventa homens, dezessete mulheres e onze crianças.
Quando White retornou em Agosto de 1590, o assentamento estava deserto. Não havia sinais de luta nem restos mortais foram jamais encontrados. A única pista era a palavra “Croatoan” entalhada em um pilar do forte e “Cro” entalhado em uma árvore ali perto. O assentamento ficou conhecido como a “Colônia Perdida” e nenhum dos membros foram vistos novamente. Algumas especulações existem nos dias de hoje, que sugerem que os colonizadores foram embora e se misturaram com algumas das tribos ali perto. A Estrada de Bimini
Todo mundo já ouviu a história da cidade perdida de Atlântida, mas o que dizer da Estrada de Bimini? Em 1968 uma formação rochosa submersa foi encontrada perto da área norte da ilha de Bimini, nas Bahamas. É considerada por muitos como sendo natural, mas por causa do arranjo singular das pedras, muitos acreditam que seja parte da cidade perdida de Atlântida (citada pela primeira vez por Platão).
Outro elemento curioso deste mistério é uma profecia feita em 1938, por Edgar Cayce: “Uma porção dos templos será ainda descoberta embaixo do limo das eras e água do mar próximo a Bimini… Espere para ser em 68 ou 69 - não muito longe disso.” Em uma expedição mais recente, o arqueólogo amador Dr. Greg Little descobriu outra linha de rochas com a mesma formação, diretamente abaixo da primeira, levando ele a crer que a estrada está na verdade no topo de um muro ou doca.
Uma possível explicação natural é que a “estrada” é um exemplo de pavimentação em mosaico, um fenômeno natural. Concreções de conchas e areia formam rochas sedimentares duras que com o tempo se fraturam em linhas retas e então em ângulos de 90 graus. Elas são um tanto comuns e uma atração turística popular na ilha da Tasmânia.
